When I studied Graphic Design there was one typography lesson that carved a beautiful space inside me. It was the day we learned about counter-shapes. The teacher pointed out a the space around letters. To realize that the letters, our main topic in typography class (so a very big deal, a very big “something”) were held by an empty space was a beautiful insight to understand. We were pointed out at this empty space because it is as important as the letter and it is the negotiation and balance between the two that make a typography have its character. That was the first time that I encountered an “emptiness” that was not empty at all and that was as important as the main subject. S, sh! Sunday, shhh Sun, day, shhh Sunday show Sundays too. They are like Sabbaths, right? but on Sundays. They can be silent, which is always the counter-form of speech and/or thought. They can be filled with nothing. Is a day to rest. /It is the “rest” of the week. It can also be the homiest part of the week, a safe day, in that safety, totally intimate... Enjoyment and leisure activities are mainly welcomed.
